VICTORIA PARK DAMAGE "NOT" DONE BY THE VISITORS

Below are photographs that Northumberland Today and the Rotary Club do not want anyone to see. The agenda of both was to bash THE VISITORS.

Diana Storen lead the charge with her centre feature screed in the regional newspaper (There is no Cobourg newspaper) which includes scurrilous hearsay that has little purpose other than to fan flames of prejudice. She writes, "One woman told me she never lets her children play in front of their own home unless an adult is present." Really!? Have there ever been any incidents of VISITORS kidnapping or molesting our children?

Other letter writers to the local version of the Toronto Sun lite, similarly bash the VISITORS, and in severasl cases, praise the Rotary Club for cleaning up the garbage from the large areas that that been occupied with Ribfest. Generally speaking, citizens of Cobourg rightfully complained that VISITORS to the park should leave it in the condition in which they found it.
Below are several of many photographs I took in which the Rotary-sponsored Ribfest failed to leave the lawns of Victoria Park in the same condition as they found it. This is a dereliction of good citizenship.

The photographs clearly display just how the lawn has been scarred. Many places were desecrated with cooking oils, grease and grunge, which seep into the ground. The garbage that the VISITORS left behind was cleaned up in a day, but the damage done by the Rotary-sponsored Ribfest is much more long-lasting.

The photographs were taken three days after Ribfest left the park. The desecrating scars will remain in that park for many more days to come, perhaps for the remainder of the summer. Pete Fisher, the Northumberland Today journalist was so focussed on the agenda of VISITOR bashing to the exclusion to the damage done by the HOME TEAM, that one wonders just how deeply Northumberland Today is beholden to the Rotary Club.

VICTORIA PARK DAMAGE

Dear Town Council; Northumberland Today once again did its seasonal bashing of visiting outsiders who do not leave Victoria Park as they found it. Their photographer focussed on the garbage left behind. The news article served little purpose except to feed local prejudices.

Attached are several photos I took circa Wednesday noon. The photos display the much longer term damage done to Victoria Park by the Rotary-sponsored Ribfest. Today nothing remains of the "damage" done by outside visitors. The damage is dead grass all over the park, and several places where grease, oil, and other grunge toxic to vegetation remain to leave scars for many more days or weeks to come.

Just as visitors to the park should be expected to leave the park as they found it, so should the sponsors of Ribfest, the Rotary Club.

It was they who brought all of the elements together to profit their private business on public property. Those elements left the park scarred with the residue of their operations. The Rotary Club also made a lot of money for their precious causes.

This Town Council should insist that local organizations who corral great swaths of the park for their cause, pay restitution for any and all damage caused by their sponsored event instead of dumping the damage on Cobourg taxpayers. In this instance the Rotary Club was just as negligently piggish as many of the out-of-town visitors.

1985 was the year I spent three months touring through the Warsaw Pact countries. I am wearing some of the clothing that I took with me. They were given away to deserving dissidents.
The poster of Lenin was a fixture at residence, fixed to the front door, the pupil in Lenin's left eye was removed and the hole positioned over the peephole. Anyone looking out the peephole at any knock knock had to look Lenin in the eye to see through the peephole.

I am writing today to draw your attention respectfully to the plight of Maziar Bahari, a documentary film maker, journalist and playwright and Newsweek reporter.

Maziar Bahari is an Iranian national as well as a Canadian citizen. He has been detained without charge in Tehran since June 21st, and has not been allowed to see a lawyer or a member of his family.

Maziar is a renowned and respected filmmaker and journalist worldwide. In recent days nearly 300 top journalists, novelists, playwrights, and filmmakers from over 60 countries have signed petitions supporting him and his work, which has always been fair, objective and reasonable. It does not pose a threat to Iran's national security in any way.

He is a wonderful man, proud of his Iranian heritage, who should be celebrated, not detained. He is also the sole support of his 83-year-old mother, Molouk, who in very recent years has been widowed and lost her other son and daughter.

For a month now Maziar has been denied Canadian consular access as well as the most basic right under Iranian law: access to a lawyer. This is incomprehensible and must be rectified immediately.

In my name, and in the name of fellow supporters the world over, I am asking for the immediate and unconditional release of Maziar Bahari.

Please intercede in his favour and help secure his safe and speedy return to his family and friends.

We will not let up until Maziar is set free.

Gimme All Your Lovin' In the USSR

The designer dictatorshit of Gorbachev's Soviet Union imploded from an overdose of crack glasnost. In its wake, Finland's audacious rock band, The Leningrad Cowboys, freshly back from a USA tour, made a coup in the collapse of the USSR. The magnificent Red Army Choir found a haven in opening itself to music from the running dogs of crapitalism. A deal was struck and the concert series, Totally Balalaika, traversed Europe.

The Cowboys ridiculed sovietism. Note the exaggerated number of medals on their jackets, emulating the old farts on Lenin's tomb. The drummer is set up as a tractor; two guitarists have guitars shaped and coloured as tractors. There are other satiric potshots. All this with the collaboration of The Red Army Choir. Splendid irony. That's what the shock and awe of Freedom does from time to time.

Free speech blossomed and this concert series was one of the greatest early outcomes of liberation.

Mr Corcoran claims that he was dismissed from participating in the liturgy because of discrimination on the grounds that he was a member of a designated protected group: gays.

Does a Muslim have the right to participate in the Catholic liturgy? If the Muslim is denied because he is a Muslim, is that regarded as discrimination on the grounds that he was a member of a designated protected group: Muslims?

Hamas tv broadcast scenes from a wedding they had sponsored. 450 couples were married at this event. Note the girlie dance around the 2:14 minute mark, followed by a few moments of an excited, glammed-up Lolita. The next extraordinary clip comes after the 4:05 minute mark when the little girls are escorted in by their Big Brave Warriors. It is useful to know that a lot of bleeding happened later that night amid screams mixed in with the howls of Allah Akbarbarian.

Sheesh, and some of us are shocked, appalled and disgusted by the gross violation of the human rights of a wealthy gay-but-chaste man by the Catholic Church, which is being coerced into the 21st century by a provincial bureacrazy.

Parishioners accused of conducting a witch hunt against a homosexual altar server in a Cobourg, Ont., parish have told the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal they were only trying to get rid of their parish priest.

In response to a complaint from Jim Corcoran, 12 parishioners from St. Michael’s parish say they did not single Corcoran out or conspire to remove him from serving at the altar on Sundays. The parishioners have told the tribunal the whole thing started with the appointment of Fr. Allan Hood as pastor in 2008.
