CURB YOUR DOGGEREL

Evidence that poetry causes happiness. Below are a pair of rhyming couplets who happen to be Cobourg Town Councilors (Adam Bureau, Nicole Beatty). The Peoples Republic of Poetry proposes that the Town implement bylaws curbing doggerel for both health and safety. Multiple studies report that countless numbers of people die of boredom every year and that mediocrity is the leading cause. Doggerel is a virus that costumes itself as poetry. It is often exploited by the greeting card industry. We want Cobourg to be regarded as Our Poem Town, and curbing doggerel will facilitate our poets to fully be able to practice unsafe text.
