The Bandshell in Victoria Park Rots from Negligence; `HEADS SHOULD ROLL`

Dear Mr Spooner;

Attached are three photographs of the south side of the bandshell in Victoria Park. Two are of the eave troughs, and one of the base of the structure. The plant life growing from the eave trough is substantial and indicates that this trough has not been cleaned, likely for years.
On the day that I photographed this, it was raining. Water ran down the side of the building -- no water came down the water spout. This negligence has likely caused considerable damage.

As photojournalist Pete Fisher said of alleged park violations not being enforced, "Heads should roll."

Please forward this to the appropriate authority that would deal with this situation
or
advise me where/to whom I should forward these images to initiate a remedy.

Town of Cobourg spends hours blog surfing

It appears that someone using the Town of Cobourg computer network recently spent 21 hours and 53 minutes perusing this blog and this morning surfed on over to the Burd Report to catch up on what is being posted about Northumberland Ribfest. They downloaded several files, including my screen catch of them watching a few months ago.

Not all litter was picked up

Hard cinders laying on the ground at three locations. They are hard enough to cut bare feet, or the feet of dogs being walked.

The photo above was the first day Northumberland Ribfest began to load stuff into Victoria Park. Below is the same lawn the day after Northumberland Ribfest departed with Cobourg holding the bag for the repairs to Victoria Park.

There were complaints by local residents that visitors from outside town should leave Victoria Park in the same condition as they found it. Surely, Northumberland Ribfest should be expected to do the same.

Small wood chips from near the bandshell were sprinkled on the most severe oil/grease burns in an attempt to absorb and/or cover-up the lawnscar. Two women walking their dogs said that was a stupid thing to do. "What about the bare feet of children or our dogs?"

There were 28 of these cylinders left overnight to August 24. Northumberland Ribfest had made its first footprint in Victoria Park a week earlier.

At several locations grass was glistening with oil/grease.

One Cobourg resident had complained about an out-of-towner using a charcoal bbq near the lawn bowlers. I wonder how they feel about this worse damage by Northumberland Ribfest.

The above was a trail of cooking grease/oil. Note the overflowing bin with garbage bags around it. It is very similar to an image taken a month previous by Pete Fisher & positioned it in Northumberland Today. Several holes in various locations were left unfilled.

Recall last summer when Pete Fisher published a photograph of garbage bags around the cairn honouring Paul Currelly. Recall how family members got on their knees the next day and scrubbed down the cairn for a Pete Fisher photo op. We know how the Currelly's felt by that desecration. Imagine how the Feldsteins ight feel about the desecration of the lawn around their dedicated tree.

In several locations, divots were not returned to the ground.

Orange day-glow markings were sprayed throughout the area. This will remain for a few days on the lawns -- as unattractive as graffiti.
