Ribfest Aftermath, Part 1

What is it about photography that makes it such a powerful medium? The ability to capture images and inspire us beyond words I would say.
This photographic work contains thousands of words. It is a lense with a soul behind, an eye withness. Our local newspaper have never done this work with such impact before.
What do I see ? I see Victoria Park not treated well. It is the plain truth. On the other hand people like Ribfest and they want to have fun.
This means perhaps we should welcome another place to celebrate Ribfest. A place with a common covered area to eat. Who will suggest a new place ?
How about moving the Ribbers over to the parking lot, or the pier, or even shut off part of the street in front of the park. There are many different options, people would rather just sit and complain then do any good for our area!
It could be moved to Northam Industrial Park. Lots of land. Lots of parking. No residences across the street to annoy with crowds and loud music.
Ribfest saw the same sort of grease/oil spillage last year -- which I photodocumented.
Apparently Ribfest learned nothing because there is more damage this year. All it takes is a bit of concern for the park and demanding that the out-of-town BIG BBQs place tarpaulins or some kind of protective surface under their rigs to prevent such harmful materials being put into the lawn.
It would be good if volunteers parked their vehicles on nearby streets and walked to the park. That would cut down on tire tread grooves. The small CAT vehicle needs to be driven in a manner that respects the lawns.
Northumberland Ribfest volunteers were too cavalier, careless and reckless.
